Great Blue Heron Spearing and Eating a Fish
This series was shot just below the J. Percy Priest Dam just outside of Nashville, Tennessee on June 14, 2007.
This is the same Heron through the stalking, spearing, extracting, flying to a dry spot, positioning and swallowing the fish. Image 3 and 4 clearly show the tip of the lower bill of the heron penetrating and protruding from the fish.
